ok did I kill the trojan?
So, long story short the last couple of days I've been getting messages from avg that I had a trojan. I'd try to fix it but they'd periodically come up. So I found that other thread about the trojan and followed the instructions to download all the malware programs and run them (only thing I couldn't do was the online scan, it wouldn't work), and here's the hijackthis report. Does it look ok?

If you know the name of the Trojan, you may want to search for a app that specifically removes that trojan. (Be aware though, that some of the sites may want money and/or be simply bogus - try reputable cites primarily)

To the person with trojon I would like to know what services are running on your computer and what isn't as I got 2 on my other older PC.I lost both of my drives A: and D: and my system won't restore to a restoration point.
To Tarun what anti virus is good for windows 98 Pc as Avg7.5 support runs out on the 31st.This is for work not home both home PCs run on XP. |

Thanks Tarun, I followed everything that you said (I think). I had actually gotten the programs from your anti-malware toolkit when you suggested it in another thread and tried to do what it said on your pc cleanup page as closely as I could.
Apparently when my computer started up today (I'm not the only person that uses it, other members of my family do as well) there was a message about a trojan being found, but the person didn't think to write down the message or what trojan it was. I've restarted and the message didn't come up yet, but if it does come up again even after doing all that, what do you suggest? Or should I wait and see if the message comes up again, and post the name of the trojan? |
